Cypress Advanced First Aid Services Ltd. is proud to offer the St John Ambulance Personal Care Worker Course. The Personal Care Worker course will prepare employees to work with the aging population in Saskatchewan.
This course is the basic requirement for employment as a Personal Care Worker under the Regulations provided by Saskatchewan Health. The PCW course is taught by a Registered Nurse with the SHA.
The 16-hour Personal Care Worker course outline:
• Introduction to Residential Care home in Saskatchewan
• Aging • Body Mechanics
• Preventing Illness and Injury
• Observation Skills
• Basic Personal Care
• Nutrition
• Recreational Activities
• Common Conditions of the Elderly
• Medications
• Care Plans
We also recommend all Personal Care Workers also have their OHS/SFA/CPR/AED first aid certificates. Cypress Advanced First Aid Service also run First Aid courses monthly.
